Meet the 49th graduating class of the New Day Addictions Recovery Program!
Every few months, we hold a graduation ceremony to celebrate those who complete the New Day Addictions Recovery Program at Christ House. New Day is a substance abuse recovery program based on the 12 Step Recovery Program. The program educates patients on abuse-associated behaviors and consequences. It also provides motivation and guidance in making positive life changes. In order to graduate, patients must attend 36 classes and complete in-class and homework assignments.
At the ceremony, each graduate gave a brief speech in which they shared a piece of their story, their experience in New Day, and dreams for the future. One graduate said, “[At Christ House] I was given a second chance to live without drugs…. I plan to continue addressing my addiction.” Another described the New Day program as “life-changing” and expressed gratitude that he was able to reconnect with his family. Another graduate described himself as “stronger, better, and wiser.”
We are proud of these brave, committed men. Many will remain at Christ House as they complete their physical recovery, two have joined the Kairos Program, and one has moved into a transitional residential program and is looking for work.
These men have inspired the Christ House community. Congrats, graduates!
