Ways to support Christ House through your workplace:
Support our patients this holiday season by sponsoring Christmas gifts!
This year due to COVID-19, many groups who have supported patients during the holidays in the past are either not in a position to give, or are unable to have a “giving tree” that parishioners can participate in by purchasing gifts for specific patients. We’re now turning to local companies and organizations to fill this gap and ensure our patients feel joyful and cared for this holiday season.
Christ House is looking for a limited number of local companies and organizations to commit to providing our patients with gifts for the holiday season. Organizations can choose the number of patients they’re able to sponsor, and Christ House can set up an Amazon Wish List to make giving simple and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Another option is for your company to donate to our Patient Christmas Gifts fund online or via check, which will go directly towards purchasing patient gifts this year.
Organizations that capture photos of the donations can be featured on our social media platforms!
Check with your HR department on how to start recurring donations to Christ House through your office’s workplace giving program.
Many employers offer matching gift programs to encourage philanthropic giving among their employees. Ask your employer’s HR or community giving department about matching gifts to double the impact of your donation.
Federal Employee Giving Program/Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). The CFC gives federal workers, retirees, and government contractors an efficient, cost-effective, and employee-focused opportunity to support the causes closest to their hearts. During the campaign season, you may designate Christ House as a recipient of your contribution by using CFC Number 34256 or United Way of the National Capital Area Designation 8385.
Christ House prides itself on the group volunteer opportunities we are able to offer to people interested in visiting our site and connecting with our mission. We’re happy to provide both long-term and opportunity-based partnerships depending on the interest of the company and needs of our program.
These opportunities include but are not limited to:
- Organizing a workplace donation drive for patient Christmas gifts
- Collecting materials and assembling care kits for patients
- Volunteering in the kitchen or on a group project
- Sponsoring an event or patient activity
