Last summer, we asked you to help us update the Kairos Community Room, and you generously responded! We surpassed our fundraising goal, and recently held an open house to celebrate the new space and thank donors.
The room had not been updated since Kairos House opened in 1996. The improvements made it brighter, more hospitable, and more functional as the central gathering space for the men in the program.
We updated the kitchen counters, flooring, and carpet, and replaced the old, cumbersome TV with one that is easier to move for community gatherings. We also applied a fresh coat of paint to the walls and added new, meaningful artwork.
Before After
During the recent open house celebration, Eric Bebber, Kairos Program Director, and several residents shared the importance of the room as a gathering space filled with laughter and fellowship. For many, this space has been integral in making the community feel like a family. As one resident shared, “I feel at home here. And that’s a good feeling.”
Thank you for making this a reality for the men in the Kairos Program, and for those who will join the community in the coming years!
