Today is the 2014-2015 year-long volunteers’ last day of service at Christ House. We held a farewell party on Tuesday during which many words of love and appreciation were exchanged between the YLVs and the staff, patients, and Kairos Program members. This volunteer group will be greatly missed, though we know that they will continue to bring compassion and joy into their communities.
(Top L-R) During her second year as a YLV, Magda served as a Nursing Assistant. She will begin a masters of medical sciences program at Boston University. Glenna served as the Patient Support Assistant and recently began medical school at Pennsylvania State University. Claire served as the Unit Clerk and will begin medical school at Tulane University. (Bottom L-R) Jenny served as the Activities Coordinator and recently began medical school at A.T. Still University. Aileen served as a Registered Nurse and will begin working at Georgetown University’s Medical ICU. Kelley served as the Case Management Assistant and will begin a masters of social work program at Virginia Commonwealth University. Gigi served as a Nursing Assistant and will begin a masters of public health program at Creighton University while working as an EMT.
Please join us in thanking them for their service at Christ House and wishing them well on their journeys. The next year-long volunteer group will begin working at Christ House in August.
