Each year, approximately 10 percent of Christ House patients and 20 percent of Kairos Program members are battling cancer. As the only residential medical facility for homeless men and women in Washington, DC, Christ House provides healing and refuge to these patients. This fall, we have set an ambitious goal: to raise $250,000 to fully fund cancer care for our patients. You can provide lifesaving care by giving today! All gifts received from September 1st and October 31st will provide medical care and support services to cancer patients.
Fighting cancer requires countless medical appointments, knowledge of the health care system, a strong support network, and the resilience to keep hope. This is an immense challenge even for those who have financial resources and the support of family and friends. How does someone experiencing homelessness, often alone and lacking support, begin to navigate this journey?
With your help, Christ House is that support system. Patients receive round-the-clock medical care, transportation to their outside medical appointments, nutritious food, and holistic support to deal with the physical and emotional challenges of fighting cancer.
We received a $150,000 grant from The Alexander and Margaret Stewart Trust for cancer care, but we need an additional $250,000 to fully fund this year’s expenses. Your donation between September 1st and October 31st will help to ensure that we can continue providing all aspects of treatment and support that are necessary for our patients struggling with cancer. THANK YOU!
